Almsgiving Opportunities
As we enter into Lent, this season of prayer and fasting, let us also remember the importance of almsgiving. The one who has mercy on the poor lends to God, and He will repay him according to his gift. Proverbs 19:17
Here are opportunities for giving alms within our community.
People In Need – P.I.N.
Most of us encounter people in need on a regular basis. The PIN Bag (People in Need) project is an outreach of the Women of St. John which seeks to help those we encounter at intersections, exit ramps, etc by providing them with a bag of items such as water, granola bars, socks, etc.
P.I.N bags are now available at the entrance to the parish hall for those who would like to grab a couple to keep in their cars to hand out to those in need.
ST. BRIGID FOOD PANTRY: LENTEN DRIVE
Beginning the first week of Lent, we will begin collecting items for our food pantry.
