As Lent Approaches...

Below are some services and activities to have in mind as we approach Great Lent. A full calendar of Lenten services will be available in the coming weeks.

Saturday of Souls, Feb. 26, 9am
Please email Fr. Philip with a list of those departed who you would like added to the prayer list for that day.  Remember to reference whether the departed are Orthodox or non-Orthodox

Lenten Meals
Our tradition in the past to share a meal following Presanctified Liturgy on Wednesdays during Lent. Please sign up on the link provided in the parish email if you would like to provide a meal. (Individuals can prepare the entire meal, or you can get with some friends to provide the meal as a group!) Contact Trish with any questions.

Psalter Groups
The Psalter is the book of Psalms divided into 20 sections called kathismata. During Lent, individual members of a Psalter group of 20 will read 1 Kathisma per day, resulting in the Psalter being read in its entirety each day by the group. By the end of the fast, each individual will have read through the entire Psalter twice.
Additionally, each group member commits to praying daily for the other members of their group.  Everyone will read and pray each day at home (or the place of their choosing) at a convenient time for them.  Although group members are not in the same physical location, they will be together in prayer.

Deadline to sign up:  Thursday, March 3
Groups will be emailed out by Friday, March 4.
